well finished the duchess dress... turned out beautifully... i havent been assed to put in the ribbon.. oh well she wears it anyways.... the only thing i will change when i make a bigger size is trying to find a yarn that is a bit more hard wearing... the debblie bliess cashmerino aran is beautiful but pulls and fluffs up when it comes into contact with velcro.... not good when your bubba wears cloth nappes with pul covers... hmmmm.... still beautiful though..

so now i am on to mums mothers day noro scarf... a sweeter, lighter version of my dark noro scarf... very pretty..... and very late...

yay! i joined suicide girls... hurrah... people like me.... managed to join some cool knitting groups on ravelry as well....

Dress... i got carried away

Anika and I went to sunspun. I couldnt help myself... all of my spending money is gone... oh well... soooooooooo worth it.

I bought Enchanted by Louisa Harding, It has the pattern for Duchess in it. and i started making it last night. I saw the blood red and went "that's it!" it's gonna be great!



I am really retarded when i knit at the moment. As soon as i discovered i had been knitting incorrectly, trying to rectify it has been a nightmare, and i just don't feel comfy doing it at the moment. I know it's just breaking the old habit... it has to be done... i sound as if i am coming off drugs or something... haha... well it's my addiction... hahaha

New cardie .. sleep school

i managed to finish the crochet cardie i had been workingon for 2 months... it just needs buttons... i am thinking wooden ones... they would look real nice...



Yay! we are back from sleep school, was on the waiting list. Went really well.... anika 'sometimes' puts herself to sleep during the day... night times are awesome, if she wakes she resettles herself she doesnt need our assistance and i wake her up once for a feed and nappy change... yay! i am finally getting some sleep... it's amazing how good you feel after having sleep..... remembering that it is used as a torture device ... well the lack of it anyway....

I made cupcakes the other night... alas they are all gone, bar one which i have saved for my husband! hehehe....
They look like dog poo turds though.... but.... they are tasty enough so i ate them all...



Dan is looking after Anika this afternoon, not quite sure what I will do... maybe go to lincraft... i wanted to go to Sunspun but they are closed on Sundays... oh well... lincraft or spotlight here i come!

EVIL MOTHERS UNITE!

Man i love my gal pals in syd! I get a bit sad occasionally knowing that i cannot just pop in to see how they are going or join in on the get togethers... but i am there in spirit! These are some of the awesomest chicks i have ever met! We also enjoy making fun of our kids... in a good way of course! Tis our Evil Mothers Unite group on facebook! Moohahahaha

These gals also make me feel human again... I suppose you can speak to any mother and they could tell you of a time when they didn't quite feel themselves, for a number of reasons. Lack of sleep, depression, no time for themselves. Speaking to my friends gets me feeling my crazy normal sane self as opposed to my crazy normal insane self. Love you girls!

Anika and I went for a 4 hour walk today... to the shops, around the shops, and back home.... took the camera with me of course.... i love looking at the flowers........see pic above.

why is it that....

Yes,, why is it that everytime i want to be quiet because Anika is asleep i make the most noise??? i bang into things, break plates, stub my toes blablabla... why????!!!!!????!!!!

i know some parents say that you have to get your child used to noise... but i seriously now think that they either dont care or do care. i think now that all kids are different and should be treated as such. i can do my damndest to try and not care about the noise etc but it won't work.... i have tried countless times.. she hates it when she is tired.... and gets grumpier and its harder to put her to bed.

It's been awhile.....

Well i have now found the time to write. Been trying to play with munchkin and knit at the same time. I am knitting her a doll. It... hopefully... is going to be awesome!

I have also decided that from now on when crafting I will be only using good quality materials. So, if that means paying 4 x as much for a ball of yarn... then so be it. The outcome is always sooooooooooooooooo much better when i have done it in the past. There is not doubt about it... the better the materials .. the better the product!!!!! So for the dolly, I am using Debbie Bliss's Baby Cashmerino. Needed around 4.5 balls ... a different colour for each... at 12.00 a ball... you can work it out... ouch! But soooooo worth it now that i am seeing the pieces that i am making.... soooooo soft. I didnt want to make her a doll that was itchy... you know?!?!?!?!

Seems like Anika's reflux isnt hurting her as much anymore! The spewing every 5 secs is still there. I havent been as good with giving her her medicine ... this is to see whether or not she might still need it and what the doctor advised.. So far she is doing well on less... so i will continue with that for a week and see how we go...

In the beginning.....

Well... this is my first post. Since reading many great blogs in the wee hours of the morning, (vision - square eyes with dark grey bags and me wearing my orange flannelette bee pyjamas) I have decided to start a blog as well. Though it will definitely not be as good as the ones I read.... I will give it a go.

Anika is sleeping now, so I have taken the chance to start..... wearing my orange flannelette bee pyjamas.... it's a sexy new look that my husband Dan gets to see when he gets home as well. Obviously they rarely come off. Poor him... in more ways than one. hehe.

All day today, I know I will think about when I can fit in a spot of crochet, sewing or craft. Hmmm, mama guilt sets in ... just because I want to find the time to do a spot of crafting. Well, I hope because she will grow up with me doing it, she will too. I daydream of the time I will get to teach her how to do embroidery or knit or crochet. Yay!
